In late 1993, District Attorney Tom Sneddon sanctioned a raid of Neverland Ranch, whilst Jackson was absent, performing in Asia. A team of over sixty sheriffs arrived, heavily armed, to search for any scraps of evidence pertaining to the molestation of young children. According to police reports, two articles of child pornography were found. This snippet of damning information was somehow leaked to the press, and within hours the headlines were awash with news of this sordid find., now visible in ints entirety on The Smoking Gun's website.

The Public Condemns Jackson

It was clear: in the eyes of the people Michael Jackson was guilty of heinous acts upon a young child. It certainly explained the strange behaviour; the amusement park erected in the back garden, the increasingly youthful-looking facial appearance, the constant companionship of young Hollywood stars like Macaulay Culkin and Emmanuel Lewis. Regardless of whether the allegations were true, Jackson was damned from the start. The media and the public at large acted as judge, jury and executioner before the King of Pop had moonwalked into a courtroom. The public were never told that the two items of child pornography found in the house were Victorian picture books of children in various costumes, sent to Jackson by a fan.
